A Welcome, written by Jack Whirry

This farming way-of-life has been part of the Whirry Family for decades, more accurately a century and more. My great grandparents John and Mary Morgan Whirry, farmers from England, immigrated to the US in 1848, settling in the Freisland area, where they operated a small dairy farm. In 1917 their son William and his wife Alma Cheney Whirry settled on a farm just a half-mile south of Evergreen Ranch. My parents Jim and Irma Frank Whirry, farmed those 280 acres most of their lives. I was born and raised there. I've known this land we now call Evergreen Ranch since I was old enough to take an exploratory hike through the countryside. I know many of you have been coming here with your families for many years to enjoy a walk through the farm to find your tree. It's my pleasure to welcome you to our Christmas tree farm.

Evergreen Ranch will be open for two days this year – Saturday, December 5 and Saturday, December 12, 2020

Preparation for the Christmas tree season begins each year in early spring with planting. In late June and early July, we hand shear all our Christmas tree varieties to help Mother Nature produce the perfect tree. As Thanksgiving approaches, we do our final preparations for selling Christmas trees and custom made wreaths and swags.

The Christmas season is a joyful time for you to be in the woods checking tree by tree to find the perfect one to cut for your home. We look forward to seeing you. We'll have a saw for you to use, a nice hot fire going in the office wood stove, and lollipops for the kids.

Merry Christmas!
The Whirry Family
